SPS History

The original company Underwater Contractors Ltd was formed by Nigel Craddock in 1990 as a Specialist Diving Company.  As a result of successful contracts involving Beach Groyne Construction, the company diversified into Sheet Steel Pile Installation and construction of Timber Sea Defence Structures and rebranded in 1992 as Commercial Marine & Piling ltd

In order to gain a competitive advantage in the market, the company invested in technologically advanced equipment and in a well-trained workforce.  This investment and the efficient management of the projects undertaken secured an excellent reputation in the industry.

The business went through a re-structuring process in 2016 which resulted in the major Marine work projects being undertaken by a new business, CMP-Thames operating out of Northfleet.

Nigel Craddock continued with the original direction of the business and continues now with the Sheet Steel Piling sector of the Market along Tubular Piling and Timberwork for Beach Groyne Construction
